Although, to be honest, calling it a comedy may be pushing it a bit.
In tone, it's darker then my usual stuff and add to that Jeb's performance that pushed it to an ever darker place.
And of course, the black and white helped considerably. Even though, I didn't shoot it that way.
In order to cut down on the digital noise, I used the automatic camera settings on the Canon 70D. The down side is that I can't change the white balance in that setting and the result was the light in Jeb's trailer took on a decidedly orangey hue...hang on, let me pull up a screenshot of the actual footage.

Yeah, not a good look. Especially considering the dig I take at John Boehner's expense.
And honestly, since I'm still not all that great at color correction, I just threw up my hands and said "Fuck it, we'll just make it black and white".
So I threw on the B&W filters and cranked up the contrast. And I have to say, it looks pretty damn good. (Not as good as if we actually shot in Black and White but close enough for Jazz.)
Anyway, I hope you like the short. And if you do, feel free to go to the Vimeo page the video's on and leave a little something in the tip jar. It'll help pay for the next one. Which is coming up sooner then you think!
